WineSpectator
A subtle, beautiful wine. Dark, with captivating aromas of Indian spices and ripe fruit. Full-bodied, with silky, fine tannins and a long, long caressing finish.
Score: 93

Sattes, dunkles Purpur, blutroter Schimmer.

This is a great Angelus from Hubert de Bouard. Very deep in colour, the nose does not appear to have moved on significantly from the previous showing in 2007. In fact, it is surprisingly tight on the nose and only reluctantly offers blackberry, cassis, dark chocolate and black olive aromas. The palate is very refined with a Burgundian finesse: notes of blackberry, cassis, crushed stone and a touch of iron. Full-bodied of course, powerful, and focused with a symmetrical finish. At 12-years of age, it probably needs the same again to reach its peak.
